Bangladesh Vitreo-retina Society started its journey in 2010. It took long five years to give it a concrete shape and first annual conference was held on 19 February, 2015. After that another tow years have passed, now we are celebrating our second annual conference.
Looking back, as a sub-specialty society, we have achieved a few milestones in our ophthalmic community. Through our periodic retina symposiums, conferences and instruction courses at the OSB meetings, we have been able to encourage our younger generation in retina subspecialty, more and more new ophthalmologists are coming to this field. Each of our symposia and conferences were of very high academic standard and all attending participants were highly benefitted.
Today, there is a sizeable skilled manpower to take care the retinal disorders at least in the large cities of our country, plus the patient care has also improved a lot.
